Enzo is an ordinary golden retriever, who does not even assume how unique he is considered by people.

He was born with extremely nice birthmark on the left side of his face, that makes him stand out among other dogs in general. Typically this breed will have a bright golden coat all over the body & head, but Enzo’s got pigmented somatic cell mutation, which has left this dark side on his face.

“Golden retrievers are born with a base black coat, with a ‘modifier gene’ that turns them golden,” Ella Castro, Enzo’s owner, said. “Almost every retriever has this modifier. Enzo has a little stumble in his DNA that erased it on that one part of his face.”

Enzo was adopted by his foster family when he was 2 years old. He is funny, friendly and cuddly individual, that has gained the attention of the whole world through his Instagram account where he has more than 200K followers.

“Most people don’t know he’s a golden,” Castro said. “They often ask his breed and say they assumed he was a mutt, because goldens are solid colored.”

In fact, Enzo is unaware of his beauty, he continues being an ordinary dog enjoying his life with his owner posting stories on his social media account.
